KABA-DC Congratulates Dan Koh, Dave Min, and Marilyn Strickland on Their Election Victories
Washington, D.C., November 4, 2026. The Korean American Bar Association of Washington, D.C. (KABA-DC) extends its warmest congratulations to Dan Koh, Representative Dave Min, and Representative Marilyn Strickland on their victories in yesterday’s midterm elections. Their success is a proud moment for Korean Americans across the country.
We congratulate Dan Koh on his election to represent Massachusetts’s 6th Congressional District. Mr. Koh comes from a family whose story is deeply woven into Korean American history. His grandfather, Kwang Lim Koh, came to Washington as a South Korean diplomat and made a new life for his family in the United States. His father, Dr. Howard Koh, served as Assistant Secretary for Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and his uncle, Harold Hongju Koh, former Dean of Yale Law School and Legal Adviser to the State Department, is one of the most distinguished Korean American lawyers of his generation. Dan Koh now carries that family legacy of service into the halls of Congress.
We congratulate Representative Dave Min on his re-election in California’s 47th Congressional District. The son of Korean immigrants, Representative Min became one of only a handful of Korean Americans ever elected to Congress from California when he won his seat in 2024. A Harvard-trained lawyer, former law professor, and former state senator, he embodies the aspirations of so many Korean American families who came to this country seeking opportunity for the next generation.
We congratulate Representative Marilyn Strickland on her re-election in Washington’s 10th Congressional District. Born in Seoul to a Korean mother and an African American father who served in the U.S. Army, Representative Strickland made history in 2020 as one of the first Korean American women ever elected to Congress. She honored that heritage on her first day in office by taking the oath wearing a hanbok, a moment that resonated with Korean Americans everywhere.
Together, these three leaders reflect both the depth of the Korean American story, from diplomats and immigrants to military families, and the growing presence of our community in American public life. Each stands on the shoulders of generations of Korean Americans who worked to build a place for our community in civic life, and each now helps open doors for those who will follow.
KABA-DC looks forward to working with all three members in the 120th Congress, and we wish them every success in the term ahead.
